Terras da Comporta

David McLay Kidd the designer of courses all over the world has had his first design on mainland Europe open this summer. Terras da Comporta is a links-style course an hour south of Lisbon. Set on the edge of the Sado Estuary Nature Reserve, the par-71 Dunas Course is one of two planned layouts in the development. The second planned course is being designed in a collaboration between Jose Maria Olazabal and Sergio Garcia. Kidd is famous for his designs at Bandon Dunes, Machrihanish Dunes, the Castle Course at St. Andrews, Tetherow in Bend, Oregon and Gamble Sands in Eastern Washington. This is just one of the many great golf courses in Portugal. The country offers great weather, spectacular food and accommodations along with challenging and scenic golf venues. From Porto in the north to Lisbon and the Algarve, there are many golf options to choose from at very affordable prices.
